Sherlock Holmes

I always had a sweet spot for all things classical detectives; from Hercule Poirot to Sherlock Holmes. And then Frogwares just asked me to design a case for Sherlock. Bliss.

Frogwares is the Sherlock company. I mean the guys have been working on the IP since the early 2000′s. So when I got the chance to work with Pascal Ensenat on a Sherlock, I jumped in.

My job consisted in laying a story adequate to the character, as well as defining the settings for the scenes of the game. So I went and did something that kind of followed the structure from The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans with a slightly retrofuture tech twist, with hidden evil lairs à la 007 and cool brass submarines. I had a lot of fun on the dialogues between the two old chaps!

I also did some work on a couple puzzles. I aimed at kind of breaking from the classical puzzle types for this niche of games, so I went and made some stealth-inspired gimmicks, and others crate-pushing minigames (even a bit of Dismantlement game!)

Blimey! I actually did more than a few puzzles for that game…

    Yes, maybe, possibly…

…I might have a slight tendency to overdetail my settings doodles.
